Setting up Variable Charge Rates for Staff and Students.
This example illustrates how to set one price group for Staff and another price for Students.
Variable Pricing.
In many schools it is necessary to charge the Staff and Students at different rates. Within PaperCut this can be achieved quite easily either on a per user basis or per group basis. Typically you would set this by Staff and Student Groups, but in this example we will show how to set the charging rates for two users.
Firstly, select the user that you want to apply a non-standard charge rate, scroll to the "Advanced Options" and Check the "Override printer-level settings". Now check "Multiply print costs by:" and enter a value. If you want this user to be charged more then add a value greater than 100%.

In this example we have applied a 50 percent discount for the user Alan Wright .
Now we have completed 4 x B&W Copies on the "test" copier and his charge rate has been applied at 20 cents.
In the example below we have completed 4 x B&W Copies for user Joan Brahne to the same "Test" Copier and her charge rate has been the full rate of 10 cents per copy, illustrating how each user can be set at a variable rate.
